==========
||The Paracord:||
==========
The paracord that I use is Survivorcord, made by Titan Paracord with fishing line, copper snare wire, and waxed jute twine in the paracord. It has a 550 lb test weight, though with the extra “guts” in it, the test weight is slightly more. In each bracelet, there should be 5.5-8 feet of paracord, depending on the size you got. If you got the 6'', you'll have 6 ft, or if you got the 7 ½'', you'll have 7 ½ ft. The color paracord used for the bracelets is Forest Camo.
THE FISHING LINE:
The line is a high-strength, transparent 25 lb test mono-filament fishing line that is perfect for catching fish of any size while you're in a survival situation. It can even be made into small snares.
COPPER SNARE WIRE:
Though the wire is thin, it is extremely strong! Great for fashioning into small snares and the wire is conductive. Great for other small projects.
WAXED JUTE TWINE:
The twisted jute twine is waxed with paraffin wax, which causes it to be waterproof and helps the spark to catch better. Even in the wettest conditions, you can start a fire in a pinch!
=========
||The Buckle:||
=========
On each of the 2 inch buckles is a high-pitched whistle, and ferro rod with a striker.
THE WHISTLE^:
Located on the ferro rod side of the buckle, the whistle is great for signaling because it's high-pitched for survival use.
THE FERRO ROD AND STRIKER^:
If the right amount of pressure is applied and the striker in the right position, a good sized spark can be generated. If that be can attained, about 50 or more fires can be started with on bracelet. The striker is serrated, so you can cut some small things like paper, tree bark and such.
==============
||The Fishing Hooks:||
==============
Encased in the bracelet in some electric tape near the burned ends, are two, size 6, Aberdeen fishing hooks. Made by Mustad, the hooks are stronger, but lighter than other hooks. They are the perfect size for catching a small bigmouth bass, trout or any medium sized freshwater fish.
Each bracelet comes with a card that has a description of the bracelet and some tips about the compass and fire-starter:
Introducing the first Food and Fire Survival Bracelet! This bracelet is a 8-in-1 survival kit on your wrist! With: a fire starter/whistle buckle; two, size 6, Aberdeen fish hooks; and paracord with jute twine (to use as tinder), copper wire (to make snares and traps), fishing line, and nylon braids (can be unraveled into threads) woven inside.
Please take note that you won't get a spark on the first strike because of a protective coating on the ferro rod (located on the whistle side). To remove the paint, just strike a few times and then you'll get a spark!
FOR BRACELET MEASUREMENTS WHEN ORDERING:
NEW SIZING FOR 2019!!! BUCKLE IS NOW INCLUDED IN THE SIZING!
Take a measuring tape or a piece of string and wrap it around your wrist. It shouldn't be too tight or loose, just enough that you can move the tape around. Take that measurement and add 1.5" to 2" to that size, so if you have a 6'' wrist, you would order a size 8.5 to 9 (depending on how snug you would like the bracelet). The smallest size I have right now is a 8.5". If you would like a smaller bracelet, go down 1/2 an inch. Since this is a handmade product, the sizes will have a small variation.
